An ode to a baby in the womb whose mother entered the abortion clinic in Casper, Wyoming.
She has lived in her mommy’s tummy for many weeks – Waiting to be born.
What will the outside world be like? What beauty, joy and love awaits her?
Then, suddenly, a so-called doctor rips her apart – The end of her short life.
Never to see the mountain above her town.
Never to ski down its slopes.
Never to sit by the river flowing by.
Never to see her mommy’s smiling face or her daddy’s grin.
Never to stand, walk and run.
Never to get her first puppy.
Never to make friends or meet a young man at a local brewery.
Never to win a state championship.
Never to see a beautiful sunrise and a setting sun over the prairie.
Never to wear her cowboy hat and boots.
Never to be a mommy herself.
All left unfulfilled in a brief and painful moment in a brown building on 2nd street.
