Treasure the Womb God Entrusted to You

Treasure the Womb God Entrusted to You

The womb within woman is an embracing environment designed for our earthly creator to embrace and nurture the God given soul that is within them.

God created man in His own image, then he created woman from the man. Within each of them, man and woman, He placed the ability to create life. It is within the woman that the womb was entrusted. Why were women entrusted with the womb? Because women are creatures of mercy and grace which well represent the attributes that are God. Man plants the seed yet it is woman who nurtures that seed.

With this thought in mind let us consider the mikvah. The mikvah is a place of new beginnings. We can never return to our mothers womb thus God gave us mikvah. We enter into the sanctuary of the mikvah allowing the water to envelope us in weightlessness. This is the only place one can feel the weight of gravity lifted from our earthly embodiment. We are souls embodied in this earthly form. We are, in essence, a heavenly creation, a soul.

The mikvah is a quiet communion between soul and creator. It is in mikvah that we restore and renew our relationship with our souls creator. The womb within woman is an embracing environment designed for our earthly creator to embrace and nurture the God given soul that is within them.

The whole point of mikvah is communion with God. When we commune with God it is like the weight of the world leaves us. How beautiful is mikvah. How wonderful to be allowed to be weightless, unencumbered and cleansed, to pray prayers from the heart while building that relationship from the security of the water. These are all combined for a breathtakingly beautiful experience.

A saying within my Jewish community is ‘Do no harm’ and so we bring the beauty of womb and mikvah together. We cannot return to our mothers womb but we can mikvah.

Mercy, Grace, Nurturing, Embracing, Unencumbered, Communion, Security, Sanctuary … these are the attributes within the womb and within the mikvah… these are the attributes of our Creator…these are the attributes of woman.

Would it be safe to say that it is within the mikvah God’s feminine side emerges?

The womb, the mikvah within the woman, is our soul's first place to commune within the embrace of our Creator. Is it any wonder we desire mikvah?

Next time you immerse, remind yourself why you mikvah and say to yourself, “First, ‘Do no harm’”.

Treasure the womb God entrusted to you.
